David Beckman and family with some dolphin, amberjack and a sailfish release. The morning was stormy and some of the family didn't feel to good but the afternoon turned out pretty and we caught some fish. The Gulf Stream has finally moved in to where it should be and good fishing closer to the beach. Lot's of dolphin lately.

Day 2 - Only two blue marlin hooked and released with none weighed. There were a total of 11 billfish hookups and 7 released.

Day 3 - 528 pound blue marlin weighed by Carnivore currently in 2nd place for a potential $220K payday if it holds up. Conditions so far have been warm and calm which is not considered to be prime for marlin fishing.

6-14-10

Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament (Day One)  Well, It was a pretty deflating experience for most of the competitors as the Citation weighed in a day one record blue marlin at 883 pounds! This was the only billfish weighed Monday and one of only four blue marlin boated. The other three were released. There were only 10 billfish released total. Marlin Mania released a white marlin in the morning and hit a triple header on sailfish later on giving them 4 billfish releases on day one and setting them in good place for the week. Sea Creature weighed in an outstanding 52.4 pound dolphin.  This just proves that  there are some big blue marlin swimming out there if someone wants to go after them!

5/13/09 First Place (so far)! We released the first and only blue marlin caught today in the Hatteras Village Offshore Open. Although it isn't likely to stand up for the entire 4 days, it does feel great to be ahead of the pack. We also caught some nice dolphin.  3/24/09 It doesn't get much hotter or more exciting then it is right now! We are seeing and catching among acres of large bluefin tuna. In fact it's hard to get away from them. They seem to be following us just to get caught.
